Choose Your Tribe

You know that feeling you get…when you realize for the first time that no one understands you?

Well, that means you’ve made it to the end of an era, and the potential beginning of another. It is a significant point in time when your subconscious screams out: You don’t have to limit yourself. In that moment, you become your worst enemy. You then tell yourself “This is life. I’m bound to many o’things. And there is no stopping that”.

You only know what you were taught. What you were taught, were limits..boundaries..rules. You were taught that you can’t change some circumstances if it’s not in clear view. You were taught the spirit world does not exist, yet you must believe in a God..without spirit. You were taught that your blood is your only family. 

How would you know anything else? This is how you were raised.

Life is about questions… a ton of questions to answers that we know are going to shred our walls of reality. Once your reality is broken down, and what you thought once was, really is a series of rabbit holes, there’s no going back. That’s a great thing. Being human isn’t about choices already made for you. It’s about you picking up the will power to choose for yourself. 

That is why you get to choose your tribe. Growing up, most of us have had the opportunity to choose our cliques, find pieces of ourselves, change our minds, lose our friends, gain some more, and so on. As we search for ourselves, we also search for other people. We encounter those that help us grow in significant fashions. Then we face those that repeat a cycle that we should have ended a very long time ago. We pick and choose the individuals and groups that we want around us time and time again; we call them friends because the only ones that stay true are our family… right?

Wrong. 

Your blood family is bound to you by the essence of magick in your body. Why do you think when people talk about Jesus, witches or anything related to the supernatural field that blood is somehow always involved? It is the key to binding. That is why you never forget your family. That is why having a child with someone makes attachments so much harder to release. Blood is the only thing keeping us all in this physical realm. Therefore, it’s quite a bind. Your blood family (those of which you have not physically chosen) will always be your relatives. But they are not your only family. Family describes a group of people bound by blood relation. Why be resent the bind you were born into when you can create your tribe?

A tribe is stronger than family. Your family can be your tribe..as long as you are connected by choice.

Your tribes are not your cliques. You don’t just go through them as time passes. You are your tribe members. You grow with your members, feel with them, and learn with them. You are bound to them by something stronger than blood. You are bound by the essence of soul. A soul, unlike blood is endless, limitless, and just like water it fits into anything and anyone. Your tribe is you on a great day, and you are your tribe in your worst moments. You are not you anymore. You all turn into “Us”. 

Your tribe is a little like your intimate relationships. It has to be healthy. The significant others that you choose to share a few adventures with can not bring you down. Those individuals are not worthy. This is your life…your tribe; and as the kahuna of your world you must determine whether your people are willing to evolve together or be left behind… in their own demise. We all want the best for our loved ones.

Why drag an anchor uphill? It will slow you down.

The point is, you have the power to choose. You are never really alone. You will have support for as long as you truly want it.  Every tribe member you seek out is another wave in your glorious sea. So open your eyes, and choose your tribe wisely. You have every bit of power in your choice as you do your actions.

And your actions will speak loudly of the being you intend on revealing.
