Society Never Taught You This

Some things in this world are misplaced.

Do you remember growing up in a religious family, and learning about how important it is to read the book of said religion, learn the story, join mass with others, and learn more about what you were supposed to read from someone else? Most of you have grown up, still believing in said religious values, whether or not you claim to be a part of a religion. I know this.. Because the minute I tell you I’m a witch, you get ready to toss a cross at me, and tell me to repent for the wrongs…I haven’t committed.

Don’t get me wrong. I have no quarrels with religion. I have a problem with the human approach to said religion. For it induces fear.

The reason why you are so afraid of that which you don’t understand, is because you were raised to not explore the spirit.

Spirit.

You are supposed to have spirit in your belief system. Not just encouragement and dedication. It also includes peace..acceptance..wisdom in knowing there is always more to learn. And more importantly, connection. I’m not here to dump on anyone’s belief system. I’m simply here to state something vital that many of us were not told about growing up in these religious sects. The main part of being religious is gaining a connection on a spiritual level as well as physical, emotional, mental, and so on. Spirit is not something that only follows you in church. It follows you, always. You simply forgot.

I talk to a lot of christians who believe in god, angels, and the devil, but not ghosts. Peculiar, I think. You believe in the idea of spiritual figures, but you don’t believe in spirits. Do you not want to believe in spirit? If someone were to tell you that you wouldn’t go to hell for not believing in god, would you still believe in the power of spirit?

It saddens me to know, through my own observations, readings, and personal experiences that most people around me believe in a higher power, or a sense of it because of fear. If your god is so loving and so powerful, why do you have so much fear directing you and your children in the “right path”? The older you get, and possibly the more free of a thinker you become, you begin to realize what truly makes a good person. It isn’t a good book. It’s a good lifestyle.

You…on your own journey find spirit. What a beautiful thing! No one had to tell you how to define your actions. You just figured it out in time.

You are a being of the physical and spiritual realms. Your spirit is your lifestyle. What you put out physically, is what you attract spiritually.

Think about the person you are. Think about the things you say to people…and to yourself. Think about what you are working on, and doing. Think about…how you see yourself. Every action that you put out there is energy that you utilize to live. You can’t really see the energy with your naked eye. But you can feel it, on your skin, when you feel something warm or cold. You feel it when you get sick or really sad, or overjoyed. We call these chemical processes. However, what are the fundamentals of science? Energy. Energy is spirit.

The groups that raised you never told you how powerful you are from the thoughts you have, to the connections you mold, to the things you do everyday. You live physically, yet you are a metaphysical being. You are the dancing ground of many worlds. You should never be afraid of who you are, and what you want to explore. The spirit world knows you are here. It is you, who are unaware that it is already influencing you… As it always has.

Be curious, loving, gracious, and free. Never again, let fear be your motive for believing.
