The future isn’t as scary as we think.
Yet, when we imagine a future relative to an event, a relationship, or an opportunity, the easiest fleeting thought one possesses is, “what if…?”
“What if I trip on the stage, and everyone laughs at me?” “What if I am rejected?” “What if they think I’m not good enough?” The list goes on.
I used to think of terrible, hurtful situations occurring, just to show myself that I am capable of conquering it, as if I were playing chess. However, these tragic scenarios never came to life. That’s when I had to rethink my reality. WHY would I waste my time thinking about something that would upset me so much?! Why would I allow myself to destroy my mental clarity, and lower my happiness? I realized I had no control…and that had to end.
What creates this mental madness that influences you to think of the future from a more negative perspective? Are things really as doom and gloom as we fear? No, it is not. The truth is, we are preparing for the worst, and calling it practicality. Why… are conditioned like this?
Fear of the unknown.
When people think about the word “Revelation” in the bible, everyone thinks of the end of the world. In truth, revelation refers to the revealing of something that was previously hidden. If the book of revelation symbolizes the reveal of something imperative for the “future”, how did we misunderstand it as the ending of all of our fates? What if… it was the beginning of something greater that we couldn’t allow ourselves to see by the fear of that which is not upon us?
Fear is a low vibrating presence. That basically means that it’s easier to stoop down a level than to allow yourself to be challenged by the greater.
Your future is relative. It will always be filled with lovely experiences, and with a few hard ones along the way. What lies beyond your present depends on how you choose to live, as well as perceive what you are living through.
The fact is, as the metaphysical beings we are, we are capable of living in the future and the past as easily as the present. Time was not meant to control us. It is another thread of perception…just like our future. You shouldn’t be afraid of what the future holds, because if you allow yourself, you will already know the future, as if it were a memory of the past.
Don’t sell yourself short on your future. Many things are made possible. Don’t allow your brain to revel in disaster. It will only attract more low vibrating energy in your mind, disillusioning you to think the world is out to get you. The universe is on your side. You simply have to give it permission to do so.
We are all guilty of imagining the world burning to ash as we’re half-consciously driving down that same old route. It is important that you learn to pay attention to what you think about –that is called metacognition. Pay attention to what flows through your mind, and put a stop to those thoughts that are out to kill your joy. I understand that we were raised to fear that which is not understood, including the future. You do not need to live that way.
Change the thoughts of your future, and even your present will thank you. Life will become brighter, happier, and even more appeasing. The things you thought you could never understand, eventually become as clear as the moonlight. The future you always dreamt about, and put aside for the sake of “practicality”, will no longer seem as far-fetched as you thought.
The madness in your mind is just one side of consciousness. What if you were to explore the part that tames your inner chaos?
What would the reality of your future become if you no longer feared the inexplicable?
