Some of us are really good at planning our lives out; while some of us…to say politely, stumble over the idea of planning. Plan or not, we’re all living our lives, which means that somehow we are all making it to where we need to be! Plans are a good way to organize our time and energy for the future. That doesn’t mean that the universe won’t laugh in our faces, as we profoundly think we have it all figured out. Plans are not meant to go accordingly; life would be pretty boring if that were the case. Instead, think of life as skipping through a labyrinth. Some paths are easier to see than others; and every turn we make is another dive into the unknown.
Why should we be afraid of the Unknown?
We shouldn’t be. The turn we make may lead us to a dead end, forcing us to retrace our steps and learn from it. On the other hand, that directional change in the maze may bring us down a longer route, getting us closer to where we need to be. Either way, we won’t be trapped in the labyrinth forever as long as we trust ourselves, and be open to learning from our past. Deciding to do these things will help us get to the other side. As much as we’d like to be in control of everything, sometimes we must accept that we can’t control what the labyrinth will look like.
Q: “What does this have to do with living the life I want?!”
A: You must make the choices that coincide with the life you want!
Do you want to stay in the labyrinth or do you want to get to the other side? I hope by now that we’ve all decided on getting out of it! In real life, we all know where we want to go.
How are you going to get there? If you don’t know what the labyrinth looks like from above, there’s only so much that step-by-step planning can get you, until you have to step back. Going with the flow is pretty cool too, unless you don’t pay attention to where you’re going.
The point is, that the journey is the most vital part of getting to the “end” because you have decisions to make! You need to choose based on where you feel you will get closer to what you want. Notice I said “feel”… like feel your instincts. I did not say “think” because your mind already decided that you’re getting out of this b****. As I have said in one of my videos, your feelings are the engine to this car. The engine is a part of your car, as your feelings are a part of you for a very vital reason. Just remember that you are in control. They are not in control of you.
Make the choices that you feel are vital to living the life you want. Sometimes, that means that we must go down the path that we know isn’t the right way, but it calls you so. You probably had to learn a particular lesson to aid you in the future. I can’t tell you how many times in my life that I could see the outcome of something blow up so terribly, yet I’m hopping in that direction as I foresee every shadow. I am often running and panicking out of a horror house, knowing I goofed. I can look back now, and see exactly why I did that. It makes me look at my personal labyrinth differently. I am more sure of my decision-making skills now.
Be confident in what you feel you should undertake. No one is living your life. They have enough to worry about in their maze. Choose, because you want to. You want a specific goal to reach in this life…or maybe even a series of goals. Whatever they may be, choose because you deserve to achieve what you are running after.
Where will you go, once you have taken the power to choose? Where have you gone already? If you can, I would love for you to share that with me. Comment below!
